Seeking Volunteers for El Rio Vivo Event – March 2nd
El Rio Vivo will be an all-day festival at Liberty Wildlife (2600 E. Elwood Street, Phoenix, AZ 85040) on March 2nd. The free public event will include artist booths, live music, wildlife presentations, kids activity crafts, and will begin with a 2-mile walk along the Rio Salado just outside Liberty Wildlife’s back door. Both the festival and the walk will begin and end at the facility.
There are many ways to volunteer and participate in this event. No experience is necessary for most of these positions.
Along our walk, we’ll need help both setting up and tearing down the tables, tents and chairs. We also would like volunteers to assist our Liberty Wildlife animal handlers in staffing the six information booths along the walk. This will mostly just involve offering water station refills to walkers, and providing basic directions (ie. to the bathrooms and toward the “finish line.”) These positions will all be finished by mid-day.
Additional volunteer opportunities during the festival will extend throughout the day. Limited experience is necessary to direct the children’s craft projects, though volunteers with face painting experience would be valuable for those roles.
