The White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council (WHEJAC) will convene a hybrid in-person public meeting in downtown Phoenix with a virtual option on  Wednesday, June 14, from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time.

WHEJAC was established by President Biden to support the work of multiple federal Councils focused on the federal efforts to address current and historic environmental justice through a whole-of-government approach to strengthened monitoring and enforcement.

The public meeting on June 14th is free and open to all, but registration is required.  This is your opportunity to provide critical local input to federal agency leaders on the need for impactful EJ policy and resources. The WHEJAC is interested in receiving public comments relevant to multiple environmental justice activities and resources including:

  • Justice40 Initiative
  • Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool
  • Environmental Justice Scorecard
  • EJ Resources and Tools that would be beneficial from federal agencies

A public comment period relevant to current WHEJAC charges will be considered by the WHEJAC during a meeting on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. Members of the public who wish to speak during the public comment period must register by 11:59 p.m., Mountain Standard Time, June 6, 2023.
